About the project:

The Customer: A casual dining restaurant and sports bar with several hundred locations. As of December 2018, it operated approximately 623 company-owned restaurants located in 37 states throughout the United States.

The Objective: This casual dining restaurant needed a solution to reduce both energy and maintenance costs while improving current light levels in its food prep (Back-of-House) area.

The Challenge: Reviewing their existing lighting configuration and components (T8-Lamps, Electronic Ballasts) we recognized that a traditional retrofit approach of replacing these components with upgraded lamps would not achieve the cost-effective significant improvement required by the customer.

The Solution: Action Services Group offered a LED Linear Tube retrofit program based on our manufacturer product neutral approach to replace the existing outdated fluorescent lamps and ballasts with new energy efficient LED Direct Wire Linear Tubes. Utilizing ServicePoint Solutions our project management team executed this retrofit within budget. In addition, utilizing one of our partnering rebate managers, Action Services Group managed the utility rebate process.

The Results:

  1. A reduction of fleet energy costs estimated at $1,300,000+ over the next 5 years due to a reduction of energy usage by 63%.
  2. A reduction of fleet maintenance costs estimated at $800,000+ over the next 5 years due to both the products rated life (50,000 hrs.) and their multi-year warranty.
  3. An annual reduction of 3,300,000+ lbs. of Greenhouse Gases emitted into the atmosphere a fundamental cause of the greenhouse effect.
  4. This project will achieve a Return-on-Investment (ROI) of 14 months before taking utility rebates into account.
