About the project:

The Challenge: A quad rink ice skating complex that hosts national events for ice hockey was using 400W metal halide lamps and wanted to reduce their energy costs as well as improve the quality of lighting.

The Solution: Action Services Group retrofitted the high energy consumption 400W metal halide lamps with 87 watt LED Lighting. Considering the energy consumption for the old metal halide ballast and lights combined the new LED lighting was an 81% energy reduction.

The Results: The LED lights have a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of close to 100, energy reduction of 81% saving the ownership more than $18,000.00 in annual energy savings for each rink, and they eliminated the slow startup time for metal halide lamps as well as their maintenance costs were eliminated.
